Quarterback Brogan Roback among Browns Friday cuts

Shon Coleman traded to the 49ers; roster down to 71

Cleveland (92.3 The Fan) – The Browns cut a Hard Knocks star and traded offensive lineman Shon Coleman to the San Francicso 49ers Friday.

Cleveland received a 2019 seventh-round pick in the trade, which is pending Coleman, a 2016 third-round draft pick, passing a physical. 

Quarterback Brogan Roback, who became and instant hit on the HBO show produced by NFL Films, was among 10 players that were waived.

Head coach Hue Jackson said the team intends to keep 3 quarterbacks on the active 53 - starter Tyrod Taylor, rookie and No. 1 pick Baker Mayfield and veteran Drew Stanton. 

Also waived Friday were tight end Stephen Baggett, offensive linemen Anthony Fabiano, Avery Gennesy and Fred Lauina, defensive linemen Jeremy Faulk and Blaine Woodson, defensive backs Elijah Campbell, Christian Boutte and Derron Smith.

Receiver Jeff Janis had his contract terminated and receiver C.J. Board, linebacker Justin Currie and defensive lineman Lenny Jones were waived with an injury designation.

The Browns roster is down to 71 and must be cut to 53 by 4 p.m. eastern on Saturday.
