Browns re-sign DB Phillip Gaines

Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – The Browns re-signed defensive back Phillip Gaines the team announced Tuesday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. 

Gaines was claimed off waivers from Buffalo prior to Week 10 and appeared in four games after starting six of the seven games he played in for Buffalo last season. 

Gaines, who missed three games due to a knee injury, recorded six tackles and three special teams stops with Cleveland.

Originally selected by Kansas City in third round of the 2014 NFL Draft, Gaines has appeared in 52 career games with 22 starts. He has totaled 132 tackles, one interception, 16 passes defenses and two forced fumbles.
