Cleveland, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – The 2019 Browns draft class is under contract.

Third-round pick Sione Takitaki signed his rookie contract on Friday the team announced. He received a four-year contract, as outlined by the collective bargaining agreement.

Takitaki, taken 80th overall, was in the bathroom when his phone rang and the Browns were on the other end to tell him he was their pick.

The BYU linebacker is the ultimate redemption story.

After being kicked out of school and subsequently working in construction for nearly a year while out of football, he earned his way back and was named a team captain last year.

Takitaki started all 13 games he played last season for the Cougars. He played both middle and outside linebacker positions and led the team in unassisted (74) and assisted (44) tackles.
