Indians beat Braves 8-4 in game one of doubleheader

The Indians are 12-7 on the season

Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – The Indians pulled away from the Braves with a six-run fifth inning, which propelled them to an 8-4 win in game one of their doubleheader. 

Carlos Santana finished with three hits, one RBI and a run scored. Max Moroff hit his first home run of the season, finishing with two RBI in the victory. The Indians have won four-straight games and improve to 12-7 on the season.

Indians' starter Corey Kluber allowed four runs and five hits in seven innings. The veteran gave up two solo home runs in the seventh, which put a damper on a solid outing. Kluber struck out eight. His record improves to 2-2 this season. 

Nick Wittgren pitched a perfect eighth inning and hasn't allowed a run in five appearances this season. Brad Hand came on in the ninth, but wasn't awarded a save since the Indians had a four run lead.

Reliever Josh Tomlin pitched a 1-2-3 eighth inning for Atlanta. He spent the first nine seasons of his career with Cleveland. 

Up Next – The Indians play the second game of their doubleheader on Saturday night. Trevor Bauer will get the start. He's looking for his third win of the season. Touki Toussaint will make his first start of the season for Atlanta.
