Bieber's hot spring continues, Indians beat Rockies 9-3

Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – Shane Bieber’s stellar spring continued on Thursday in Goodyear.

Bieber didn’t allow a run or a hit in five innings and the Indians beat the Rockies 9-3. He finished with eight strikeouts. Bieber has allowed one earned run in 14 innings pitched this spring.

The Indians got off to a hot start and took a 9-0 lead after Daniel Johnson’s grand slam in the sixth inning.

Oliver Perez, Adam Cimber, Dan Otero and Nick Goody entered the game in relief, allowing four combined hits. The Indians' pitching staff finished the day with 12 strikeouts.

Hanley Ramirez went 2-for-3 with a run scored, raising his average to .286. Roberto Perez homered in his quest to be the everyday catcher. The Indians are 11-8-2 in Cactus League play.

Up Next – Carlos Carrasco is scheduled to get his second start of the spring on Friday against Texas at 4:05 p.m.
