Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) - Cleveland Indians outfielder Leonys Martin is battling a 'life-threatening' bacterial infection that attacked his internal organs, President Chris Antonetti told reporters Monday in Cincinnati. The 30-year-old is in stable condition.

Martin was acquired by the Indians from the Detroit Tigers before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline in exchange for shortstop prospect Willi Castro. He played six games with the team before hitting the disabled list.
