CLEVELAND, Ohio – Indians pitcher Shane Bieber threw the first complete game of his career in Sunday's 10-0 win over the Orioles. He finished with 15 strikeouts in what was the most dominant outing of his career.

"He picked a good day to miss bats because it was a really good day to hit," manager Terry Francona said. "I thought he had the best breaking ball we’ve seen yet. And he obviously located his fastball. He didn’t walk anybody. That was a pretty impressive day."

Bieber, 23, has shown flashes of brillance in his time with the Tribe, but Sunday was a reminder that his ceiling is as high as any of the Indians' starting pitchers.

"We’re always encouraged with Biebs because we know how he prepares, we know how he works," Francona said. "Nobody can forecast years down the road. But what we ask our guys to do, he does every bit of that. That’s what we look for."

Bieber admits he was thinking about the complete game shutout in the moment, but it never seemed to get to him. Watch his postgame interview at the top of this article.
