Encarnacion takes home AL Player of the Week

Indians DH hit 5 HR and 13 RBI in the past week

Edwin Encarnacion took home the AL Player of the Week presented by W.B. Mason on Monday, MLB announced.

The Indians struggled but their DH did not, hitting .407 (11-for-27) with five home runs, two doubles, 13 RBIs and nine runs scored last week.

EE wrapped up the week in the Indians 7-5 loss to Minnesota on Sunday with 2 homeruns and 4 RBI. 

His hot week bring his season averages to  batting .246/.317/.517 with 16 home runs and 40 RBIs in 53 games.

Edwin's teammate Francisco Lindor has already won the AL Player of the Week twice this season and even took home the Player of the Month in May.

Encarnacion and the Indians return to the field Tuesday against the Milwaukee Brewers at Progressive Field.
