Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) - Joe Thomas took out a full page ad in Friday's Cleveland Plain Dealer in which he thanked Browns fans, the media, his teammates, Browns ownership, the organization as well as hs family and friends.

Thomas announced his retirement after 11 seasons with the Browns that saw him start 167 consecutive games and 10,363 consecutive snaps before a left triceps tendon tear against Tennessee on Oct. 22, 2017 ended both streaks, his seasn and ultimately his distinguished career.

Thomas is the only Browns player in franchise history to be selected to 10 Pro Bowls. He's the only lineman in NFL history and just the fifth player in league history to achieve the milestone. The other four are in the Hall of Fame.

Thomas' retirement press conference is scheduled for Monday afternoon in Berea.

The Browns plan to honor Thomas this season by placing '10,363' in the team's Ring of Honor at FirstEnergy Stadium and it is expected that one day his name will join the other 16 Browns Hall of Famers there as well.

Thomas is eligible for election to and induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2023.
