Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – For years LeBron James has railed against the NCAA and its system for making billions of dollars off student athletes.

Now James is taking his fight to HBO.

James will serve as an executive producer of ‘Student Athlete’ which will take aim at the “exploitative world of high-revenue college sports.”

The documentary will premiere October 2 at 10 p.m. on HBO.

James’ production company SpringHill Entertainment will produce the documentary along with the help of his business partner Maverick Carter.

James called the NCAA “corrupt” earlier this year in the wake of a federal investigation into college basketball recruiting.

James has long been frustrated by the NCAA’s strict rules and limitations placed on student athletes while it nets billions of dollars in revenue that is generated by college football and basketball thanks to mega television contracts and conference television networks.
