Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) - The Cleveland Indians have promoted outfielder Melky Cabrera from Triple-A Columbus, optioning RHP Evan Marshall to Columbus to make room on the 25-man roster. RHP Alexi Ogando was designated for assignment to make room for Cabrera on the team's 40-man roster.

Cabrera will hit 6th against the Houston Astros on Sunday night.

The 33-year-old went 12-of-46 (.286) with four doubles in 10 games with Columbus since being signed to a minor league deal by the Indians on May 1st. Cabrera owns a .286/.335/.418 slash line over 13 major league seasons, spending 2017 with the Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Royals.

Marshall appeared in four games for the Indians allowing two earned on three hits in 2 2/3 innings. Ogando allowed two earned on two hits in his lone inning with the Tribe.
