Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) - The Cleveland Browns offered the 35th overall pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for quarterback Nick Foles, but the trade was rejected, according to a report from NFL.com's Mike Silver.

The report also says that the Eagles ran the idea by Foles, who said he preferred to remain in Philadelphia as Carson Wentz's backup. The Browns of course then opted to deal for Tyrod Taylor.

It has become routine for any report from Silver to be tied back to Browns Head Coach Hue Jackson, who is close friends with the reporter. The idea was floated by Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, but was adamantly refuted by Silver.
