Indians acquire All-Star reliever Brad Hand from Padres for Francisco Mejia

Cleveland also gets rookie Adam Cimber in the deal

The Cleveland Indians have acquired all-star relief pitcher Brad Hand and rookie pitcher Adam Cimber in a trade with the San Diego Padres on Thursday in exchange for top catching prospect Francisco Mejia.

Hand has been an All-Star each of the last two seasons in San Diego. In last three seasons, Hand has a 2.66 ERA with a spectacular 11.8 K/9 ratio.

The lefty has 65 strikeouts and 24 saves in 41 appearances this season.

Hand, its worthy to note, is also under team control through 2020, with a team option for 2021.

As for Cimber, in his first year in the majors, has 51 Ks to only 10 BBs this season.

Cimber boasts a 3-5 record and a 3.17 ERA in 42 appearances.
